OSF TEAMS UP WITH BARNES & NOBLE TO PRESENT “CONVERSATIONS”

First “Conversation” Features Discussion About World Premiere Continental Divide with OSF Actor and Director of Literary Development

ASHLAND, ORE.—The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Medford will continue their partnership this season and present five “Conversations” for the 2003 season. The one-hour long events are hosted at Barnes & Noble and are free to the public. A drawing for a gift certificate to any 2003 non-sold-out performance will wrap up the evening.
The first “Conversation” will be held from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 with actor Mirron E. Willis and OSF Director of Literary Development and Dramaturgy Douglas Langworthy.
Mr. Willis plays five roles in Daughters of the Revolution [Continental Divide], and Mr. Langworthy has been involved in the development of the world premiere two-play cycle since it was commissioned. They will share with the audience the joys and challenges of bringing these world premiere productions to the stage.
This is Mr. Willis’s first season at OSF. He has worked at numerous regional theatres in southern California and Los Angeles, as well as in film and television, including roles in Independence Day, Universal Soldier, Maximum Security, ER, Star Trek: TNG and Voyager, Babylon 5, Beverly Hills 90210 and Seinfeld.
Mr. Langworthy  has been with OSF for seven seasons and worked as dramaturg on more than 20 productions. He co-adapted the 1999 production of The Three Musketeers and translated the 1999 production of The Good Person of Szechuan.
The next “Conversations” is scheduled for May 21 and will feature OSF actor Derrick Lee Weeden and Literary Director and Dramaturg Lue Morgan Douthit.
Barnes & Noble Booksellers is located at 1400 Biddle Road, Medford.
