Science Works Offers Volunteer Training

(Ashland, OR) April 15, 2003… ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is offering an exciting opportunity to become involved in the Rogue Valley's new interactive science museum. A volunteer training session will be held on Sunday, April 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum is gearing up for the summer season and volunteers are especially needed. A summer intern project for high school students will be an important part of the summer volunteer program.

During the informal training session new and current volunteers will learn more about the museum and the volunteer positions available. Volunteers fill such positions as Exhibit Interpreter, Activity Assistant, Visitor Assistant, Exhibit Builder and other possibilities. No previous experience is necessary, and all that is required is enthusiasm and a desire to work with explorers of all ages.

Volunteers are an important part of ScienceWorks and the volunteer program offers excellent opportunities for community service, resume development and work experience. The training will be conducted on site at 1500 East Main near Walker in Ashland. For more information on the ScienceWorks Volunteer Meeting please contact Stephanie Butler at 541-482-6767 ext. 30.

ScienceWorks is a non-profit whose mission is to inspire wonder and stimulate exploration of the world around us through fun interactive science.  Learn more about ScienceWorks at www.scienceworksmuseum.org.
