Ghostlands Returns to Greenroom for One Weekend Only!

Returning for one weekend only!

Ghostlands of an urban NDN (that''s Indian.. if you say the letters fast).Thursday, Friday and Saturday July 10,11, 12, at 8pm at the Greenroom Theater, 280 E. Hersey Street in Ashland. "Ghostlands" tells a compelling life-story written and performed by Robert Owens Greygrass. Both tragic and funny, this type of theater experience is similar to John Leguizamo's, or Whoopie Goldberg's one-person-shows, as seen on HBO. Directed by John Cole, Ghostlands is a one man performance piece that examines personal history,
American history, and Native American history and the comic  ironies of how they all collide in today's culture. The piece travels down the dark hallways of alcoholism, broken treaties, and broken families; Robert laughs hard at himself as he travels these paths.
Ghostlands draws the audience into the despair and comedy of a mixed-blood Indian man making his way in the modern world. Haunting and yet filled with the spiritual insights and divine guidance of Native American "Red Road" living, this kind of story is  what compels people to seek out a show like this or John Leguizamo's, even though the
performer's life seems dramatically different from the audiences, the truth, irony, pain, humor, and spiritual revelation he extends to the audience, directly relates to everyone's story told through the voice of one man.

Tickets are $12.00 at the door.
