The Siskiyou Institute presents pianist John Nilsen in concert,  Sunday, August 17th @ 7:30 PM at the Old Siskiyou Barn.

Pianist John Nilsen is one of the most successful recording artists in the Northwest. With over 430,000 records sold, Nilsen performs his original instrumental pieces of jazz, classical, folk and rock throughout the world. Born in Washington, he and his family have been residents of Oregon since 1960.
Influenced by The Beatles; Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; Pat Metheny and Bruce Cockburn, John tried his hand at rock and roll after graduating from Southern Oregon University by serving as guitarist/vocalist for several bands in the 70's and 80's. Presently, he is performing both solo piano concerts and concerts with the John Nilsen Group. John¹s music appears on his own label, Magic Wing and his latest CD is called Across Oregon. It is his fourteenth release and inspired and written about the state John calls home.

We are pleased that John will be performing at the Old Siskiyou Barn to help us raise the necessary matching funds for music education grants awarded to the non-profit Siskiyou Institute.
