ST. CLAIR PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES 2003/2004 CONCERT SERIES

Ashland -- St. Clair Productions is a 501 (c) (3) tax exemptnon-profit dedicated to bringing to the Rogue Valley the finest folk and ethnic musicians from the United States and abroad. The fifth season ofEclectic Music and More brings to the Rogue Valley music from SouthAmerica, Scotland, and Africa, Celtic music from Scotland, Ireland andGalicia, Jewish music from around the world, and traditional Chinesefolk music. All shows are at the Unitarian Center, 4th and C Streets,

Ashland, unless otherwise indicated.

In addition, the Fourth Annual Rogue Valley Blues Festival takesplace Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend, January 16-18, 2004, atthe Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. Headliners include: Friday evening, Michael "Hawkeye" Herman and Cris Smither; Saturday evening, Sue Foley Band and the Holmes Brothers with the Beau Berry Band opening. There also will be workshops, free performances and a Sunday evening blues jam.

Shows scheduled for the Eclectic Music and More series include:

  • Friday, September 12, David Mallett, songwriter with songs recorded by over 150 artists and especially known for his Garden Song (Inch by inch, row by row)
  • Saturday, October 4, Paul Curreri, blues musician whose latest CD wasproduced by Kelly Joe Phelps, and Andy Friedman, poet and former illustrator for the New Yorker presenting an interactive slide-show
  • Saturday, October 11, Golden Bough, Celtic music of Ireland, Scotland and Galicia
  • Sunday, October 26, Silk Road Music, traditional Chinese folk music sung both in Chinese and English
  • Friday, November 7, Holly Near and Cris Williamson, icons of the women's music genre touring in support of their new CD recorded together
  • Saturday, November 15, Chata Addy, drummer from Ghana. and SUSUMA, an
  • Afro-reggae, funky highlife band
  • Friday, December 5, Kitka, a women acapella choir, in Wintersongs, a performance of Eastern European music from a variety of ethnic and spiritual traditions
  • Friday, February 6, Patrick Ball, Scottish harpist and storyteller, in his new one-man play In the Beauty of the Island
  • Friday, February 13, Kate Campbell, country-flavored singer songwriter
  • Saturday, March 13, Christine Lavin, singer, songwriter, guitarist, concert artist, comedienne
  • Saturday, March 27, Chris Proctor, fingerstyle guitarist and David Jacobs- Strain, blues guitarist and songwriter
  • Saturday, April 17, Cerro Negro, Flamenco global fusion
  • Saturday, April 24, Cantor Richard Kaplan, Jewish World Music including songs from European, Middle Eastern and Spanish/Andalusian traditions, at Havurah Shir Hadash, 187, N. Mountain
  • Saturday, May 8, Swami Beyondananda, comedian running for Precedent on the Right-To-Laugh Party ticket
  • Saturday, May 15, Chaskinakuy, Andean village music
